This is a really fun and easy workshop, no experience is needed for any of the activities involved. I take this workshop on the road to schools and get great results. However in the studio we have a lot more control and after a very short amount of time (usually around 3 hours)- we'll get some quality outcomes that you can take away.
Part 1 - (stencil and spray paint)
The first part of creating your butterfly images is achieved using stencils and spray paint. We use safe and odourless water-based spray paints to apply colour through the pre-cut wing stencils. Even if you've never used spray paint before - we'll soon have you making beautiful marks and creating stunning effects. You can paint up as many wings as you want - both left and right. Then we grab a quick break while we wait for them to dry.
Part 2 - (screen printing)
Once they are dry we'll get onto the exciting part of printing - again no experience needed - I'll take you through the basics of screen printing, the techniques that you need to finish your wings off. It is easy, fun and instantly rewarding, but you'll actually be learning a lot about some key aspects of screen print: registration, squeegee technique, flooding the screen, and any problem-solving that we need to do along the way.

This workshop doesn't need much in the way of resources, just some desk space and somewhere to grab a splash of water now and again, perfect for offices or schools (local to W. Yorks).
